Infrastructure Engineer (Malta based)

Reports to: Infrastructure Manager

Job Description:

Idox Health is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to work within the Infrastructure team in Malta. Working under own initiative, the engineer may work on site or remotely with some out of hours on-call work due to the geographic reach and requirements of the business.

The work revolves around specialized technical infrastructure systems for a focus on security, resiliency and adherence to process.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, setup, documentation and support of business-critical infrastructure components, including:
           - Active Directory
           - Hyper-V virtualization, containerization
           - Virtual Desktop Environments
           - Application publishing servers
           - LAN, WAN, VLAN and VPN technologies and routing
           - VoIP systems and handsets
           - Palo Alto Firewalls
          - Linux (CentOS / Debian etc) and Windows servers
           - SQL database clusters
  • Monitoring and supporting the Idox Health Cloud and components
  • Fault rectification in a timely manner
  • Dealing with internal and external clients on support related issues
  • Installation, maintenance and upgrading of existing systems
  • Recording and updating problems and solutions in a knowledge-base
  • Mentor and support colleagues, sharing knowledge and expertise
  • Training internal clients on new systems or software applications
  • Enforce all support related policies as authorized by the company Infrastructure Manager
  • Ensure that infrastructure services are constantly available
  • Performing infrastructure changes and BAU tasks to a high standard

Skills: 

  • Certified Microsoft Systems Administrator or equivalent.
  • Windows Server, Centos, Redhat and Ubuntu experience. Diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of network principals such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls and wireless technologies.
  • Clear methodical thinking, able to work under pressure to dealines.
  • A strong footing in both wireless and wired IT network design.
  • An approachable, proactive individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. 
  • The ability to work in a small team and/or on personal initiative.
